The Roo Theatre Performing Arts School prepares students for stage performance by teaching a range of theatrical skills. Through developing their skills in stagecraft, improvisation and characterisation, students also develop their confidence and social skills.
All tutors and staff of the Roo Theatre Company have current Working with Children clearances and are appropriately qualified for their duties. Our weekly lessons have been developed to complement the NSW Board of Studies, Teaching and Educational Standards curriculum taught in schools, while providing an authentic learning environment

DRAMA CLASSES

Open for all ages.

The Home of the Arts Drama classes are split into multiple classes, covering tuition for Kindy, right through to Adult. Through a series of specialised games and activities, the students will learn the skills of; public speaking, quick thinking, character development, imagination skills, confidence building, and working as part of a team. Classes are designed and programmed to teach children the basics of Drama, including projection on stage, movement, script work, working as part of a team, theatre etiquette and many more fundamental elements of the craft. Many different forms of theatre will be covered throughout the year in different classes.
MUSICAL THEATRE CLASSES

Open for students aged Year 3 - Year 12
|
The Musical Theatre classes are divided into Junior, Intermediate, and Advanced groups, Junior Musical Theatre is open for students from Year 3-6, Intermediate Musical Theatre is open for students in Year 7 & 8, and Advanced Musical Theatre classes for Years 9-12. The Musical Theatre classes will focus on Contemporary and Classical music theatre pieces, focusing on what we call the “triple threat”. Singing, Dancing, and Acting
