ROO CELEBRATES 25 YEARS IN STYLE

Fire-Dancer Extraordinaire
The Roo Theatre celebrated their 25th Anniversary on February 25th, 2012, and February 26th, 2012. Since 1987 the Roo has been a huge influence on the local community, and has seen 1000's of people come and go - and some stick around for the full 25 years. From it's original home in Jamberoo (where it got it's name), to Kiama, to it's current location in Shellharbour Village. As part of the celebration, the Roo Theatre hosted a Gala Evening on Saturday the 25th of February, inviting current and ex members, and local public figures, to remenis over champagne and canapes - before being entertained by the cast of The Full Monty in a special performance. Then, continuing the celebrations, on Sunday the 26th of February, a BBQ was held for members and ex members, and in true theatre style it ended as expected, a gathering around the Grand Piano singing popular showtunes. A successfull weekend, with hundreds of familiar faces, who had an absolute blast. A huge thank you must go to catering team: Tania Giustiniani, Cathy Moses, Rebecca Barrow, and Mark Giustiniani, our decorating team, Kim Hobbs, Alison Moore, Caitlin Moore, Martin Moore, and Josif Jovanovski, The Roo Theatre Committee, Bendigo Bank (for the loan of the Marquee's), Chris Micallef, Graham Downey, Steve Warwick, The Full Monty Cast, Darren Partlett (for the amazing photography), Our amazing fire twirler Clayton, Makayla Stubbs, Sarah Micallef, and anyone else I have forgotten. Welcoming a new life member and a new name to add to our Wall Of Fame ...

The Roo Theatre extends it's many thanks to David, and hopes to have him on board for many more years.
